Game-Changer, Cloud Solution Boasts Powerful Switched Digital Video Capability for Enabling Hundreds of HD Channels

TORONTO, ON – July 16, 2012 – Adara Technologies Inc., the provider of game-changer, cloud-delivered video solutions that enable mid-to-small sized service providers to affordably revolutionize their video business, today announced that it has been selected by Darien Communications for a digital video network upgrade designed to immediately reduce operational cost and business risk while enabling a success-based, pay-as-you-grow mechanism for revolutionizing the consumer experience with video services over a 10+ year horizon. The solution’s hosted & managed Switched Digital Video capability enables the addition of hundreds, even thousands, of incremental HD channels. Combined with advanced, web-connected set-top boxes and a next-generation User Interface, the solution will enable the operator to deliver compelling applications such as Whole Home DVR, Social TV, Advanced Search and others, traditionally associated with the latest Tier One IPTV implementations. Darien Communications, a subsidiary of Darien Telephone Company and a triple-play service provider with approximately 3,000 subscribers in Southeast Georgia, chose to partner with Adara over continuing to go-it-alone. “We know that having a committed partner like Adara is better for us and better for our customers,” said Johnny Zoucks, Darien Communications’ Chief Operating Officer (COO). “For us, this partnership means reduced costs and risk, and we are very excited about quickly delivering new customer services and experiences,” he continued. Adara’s hosted and managed video solution is a unique breakthrough in that it is applicable to Moto-shops and Cisco-shops alike and does not require a fork-lift replacement of the operator’s investment in set-top boxes, CAS and headend. The solution incorporates SDV technology in a cloud-delivered implementation to cost-effectively enable the delivery of hundreds, even thousands, of HD channels. It also combines Cisco’s advanced, web-connected set-top boxes with an advanced, next generation UI for interactive web applications, widgets and provider-controlled over-the-top (OTT) content services. “At first I was worried about losing control to Adara’s hosted solution,” said Will White, IT Manager for Darien Communications. “However, Adara demonstrated their Utilities Portal and it is a great set of tools for remote diagnostics, reporting and control. We are looking forward to better control of Darien Communications’ future through improved customer service, fewer truck rolls, faster problem resolution MTTR, and proactive problem detection,” he added. “While our immediate focus with Darien Communications is operational cost and risk reduction, we are already planning to leverage our solution’s powerful SDV-in-the-cloud capability, advanced User Interface and IP apps and widgets,” said Joseph Nucara, Adara’s CEO. “Our already-deployed suite of powerful solution capabilities enables Darien Communications to add revolutionary new video service innovations quickly – in weeks or months, not years – as their competitive pressures and opportunities warrant. Darien Communications’ video business gains a renewed lifespan of 10 to 15 years,” Nucara added.
