Adara Technologies Triples Sales Force to Meet Demand for DOCSIS-Expanding SIPV Solution

Adds ECAM Group for Sales and Support Coverage including Tier I MSOs

TORONTO, ON – July 18, 2018 – In response to a recent growing demand for its SIPV Solution and associated Utilities and Tools Suite from North American cable operators large and small, Adara Technologies Inc. has entered into an agreement with The ECAM Group that will more than triple Adara’s sales and support coverage in the United States.

The ECAM Group, along with its regional representative firms Giganet Sales and Teracom Sales, is a well-respected Account Management firm working in the United States cable industry market. The firm’s team partners are all industry veterans with over 190 years of combined industry experience.

“The ECAM Group is particularly excited to partner with Adara Technologies at this point in the Company’s—and industry’s—evolution,” said Paul Muir, Managing Partner for ECAM. “Adara is experiencing very strong interest from not only Tier II and III but also Tier I cable operators who are interested in its game-changing, low-cost, SIPV solution that enables operators to free up large amounts of their spectrum in just 90 days for immediate DOCSIS expansion. In addition, its associated SIPV Utilities and Tools Suite delivers improved service visibility and customer support enabling augmented customer experience and reduced subscriber churn. It is obvious that Adara’s solutions are meeting today’s key market needs and we are happy to help more operators become aware and join the movement.”

The SIPV solution works with all legacy (and new) set-top boxes to immediately deliver video more efficiently by not only “switching” the multicast programs rather than broadcasting them, but also by distinguishing between MPEG2- and MPEG4-capable set-top boxes — a unique and powerful feature called “codec-awareness”. This feature thereby enables the bandwidth efficiencies of MPEG4 without the costly and very customer-disruptive requirement to force the forklift replacement of remaining MPEG2 set-tops. The benefit is that SIPV can free up to 80% or more of an operator’s bandwidth in as little as 90 days so that it can be immediately used for multi-Gigabit Broadband expansion using DOCSIS 3.0, 3.1 or Full Duplex for compelling services such as cellular backhaul, faster High Speed Internet, unicast (OTT) and multicast IPTV, increased 4K UHD delivery and much more.

“The ECAM Group is particularly well suited to represent Adara Technologies in this market segment,” said Mark N. Guerrazzi, Vice President, Sales & Business Development for Adara. “Their team of industry representatives has excellent relationships with operators across the country, as well as a deep understanding of the challenges that Adara can help them solve, including the rapid expansion of their profitable Broadband business while substantially improving their customer service metrics. This makes the value proposition for our new sales team exciting and highly beneficial to our customers.”

Adara Technologies will be demonstrating its solutions at The Independent Show in late July as well as at the upcoming CableLabs Summer Conference in Keystone in early August, a venue for Tier I cable operators to learn about interesting new technologies.

“The interest we have received from Tier I operators is a fairly recent development,” said Guerrazzi. “However, when you consider the ultimate benefit of enabling operators to accelerate DOCSIS expansion for residential Broadband, B2B services including cellular backhaul and IoT while, at the same time, enabling the addition of many more HD and 4K channel offerings, all without customer disruption, the mounting interest among all sizes of operator is understandable.”

CCAP’S Video Sub Growth Defies Industry Trends

Cable Operator Posts 22% Increase in Video Customers over Last 5 YearsCredits Adara Technologies’ SIPV Solution with Solving Bandwidth Crunch and Enabling Company-wide Focus on Game-Changing Customer Experience

TORONTO, ON – February 6, 2018 – Adara Technologies Inc., the provider of game-changing solutions for mid-sized cable service providers, today announced that its customer Coopérative de Câblodistribution de L’Arrière Pays (CCAP) of Quebec City, a triple-play service provider with 15,000 video subscribers has experienced a 22% growth in digital video subscribers over the past five years, far surpassing results of most North American cable operators. CCAP attributes much of its positive results to the launch of Adara Technologies’ Switched IP Video (SIPV) solution in 2012, which enabled easy, worry-free bandwidth-on-demand and permitted the company to focus entirely on differentiating its customer experience.

CCAP expects to generate even greater Customer Satisfaction success through the utilization of Adara’s new advanced video User Interface/ Customer Experience platform recently launched at the end of 2017. The platform leverages the latest 4K RF+IP hybrid boxes as well as existing set-tops, all of which have enabled the continued addition of advanced UI features and interactive applications traditionally associated with advanced Tier I IPTV implementations. The platform delivers such subscriber-friendly features as Whole Home DVR, modernized content search and discovery capability including customizable subscriber video mosaics, operator-definable TV-Mix mosaics, operator-branded look and feel, a weather app, intuitive remote control short-cuts and other several navigation enhancements.

The Adara SIPV solution frees up a significant amount of bandwidth for expansion of DOCSIS Internet services as well as new video services such as 4K UltraHD. The solution delivers video more efficiently by “switching” multicast programs into network service groups only when they are requested, rather than wasting valuable bandwidth by the typical practice of broadcasting all channels, to all set-top boxes, all the time. The benefit is that SIPV can free up to 80% or more of an operator’s video bandwidth in as little as 90 days so that it can be immediately used for DOCSIS 3.0, 3.1 or Full Duplex expansion to multi-Gigabit.

“Five years ago, CCAP’s launch of our SIPV solution was a very strategic enabler of worry-free bandwidth-on-demand,” said Joseph Nucara, CEO and Co-founder of Adara, “permitting them to focus their entire company on customer experience differentiation like faster Broadband tiers, more HD and 4K and a better UI rather than, every year, fighting the constant tug-of-war for bandwidth with time-consuming and disruptive, yet temporary methods. Within the next week, for example, they will be launching a complete, advanced video offering of linear and VOD for the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics — with no concern about additional channel availability — something only the most innovative cable operators can deliver.”

“The revolutionary and compelling customer services and capabilities have enabled us to win against satellite and growing IPTV competition,” said Stéphane Arseneau, CCAP’s General Manager. “It has provided us with a winning combination of significant bandwidth expansion, new and innovative local channels and highly popular content delivery features and UI. And, not only does it allow us to quickly surpass the competition’s HD channel offering, it also has prepared us for an imminent launch of 4K UltraHD content plus further DOCSIS expansion to insure continued high customer satisfaction and subscriber growth.”

“On top of all that, Adara’s suite of remote diagnostic, reporting and control utilities have also delivered a tremendous bonus,” said Marco Gonzàlez, CCAP’s Customer Service Chief of Staff. “These have helped us provide better, more responsive and even proactive customer service which in turn has greatly improved our retention rates and reduced churn,” he continued.

“The important core building blocks of SIPV are widely-deployed, proven, and extremely reliable,” said Stan Koukarine, Adara’s CTO and Co-founder. “And of even greater significance is that SIPV works seamlessly with legacy QAM set-tops and gateways. In fact, with SIPV, the overall customer experience is not only better and more reliable than broadcasting, but the super-efficient delivery mechanism enables an unlimited channel line-up permitting a low-cost, success-based introduction of 4K UltraHD, as well.

“And, not only has the SIPV solution successfully met CCAP’s Internet expansion and video upgrade goals, but the Company was able to achieve this while avoiding a disruptive DTA rollout, an HFC plant upgrade and a STB forklift, each of which are many times the cost of the SIPV solution.”

Fayetteville Public Utilities Launches Adara’s SIPV Solution to Accelerate DOCSIS Expansion

Up to 80% of Bandwidth Expected to be Freed

TORONTO, ON – July 11, 2017 – Adara Technologies Inc., the provider of game-changing solutions for mid-sized cable service providers, today announced that Fayetteville Public Utilities (FPU), a Tennessee triple-play cable operator based in Fayetteville, TN serving nearly 40,000 revenue generating units (RGUs) launched Adara’s Switched IP Video (SIPV) solution to free up a significant amount of bandwidth for expansion of DOCSIS Internet services.

According to Eric Reeves, Director of Telecommunication Services, “Internet continues to be FPU’s most popular service; it brings the world to rural Tennessee. With SIPV, we can easily expand to deliver a 1 Gbps Internet service in the near future. A complementary benefit of SIPV is the ability to support both Digital Simulcast of the analog tier of channels and create room for the expansion of HD digital services. Through a single upgrade, we both preserve and modernize the video services we deliver, and are able to avoid the onerous expense to say nothing of the problematic customer disruption of analog reclamation.”

Adara’s SIPV solution delivers video more efficiently by “switching” the programs into network service groups only when they are requested, rather than wasting valuable bandwidth by the typical practice of broadcasting all channels, to all set-top boxes, all the time. The benefit is that SIPV can free up to 80% or more of an operator’s video bandwidth in as little as 90 days so that it can be immediately used for DOCSIS 3.0, 3.1 or Full Duplex expansion to multi-Gigabit.

Adara Technologies Releases White Paper on Switched IP Video Platform for Cable Operators

Solution Enables Ops to Free Up Significant Bandwidth for DOCSIS Expansion

TORONTO, ON – June 20, 2017 – Adara Technologies Inc., the provider of game-changing solutions for mid-sized cable service providers, today released a comprehensive study on the Switched IP Video (SIPV) platform that enables cable operators to free up significant bandwidth to expand their DOCSIS Internet services quickly and cost effectively. With the demand for ever more broadband bandwidth often stymied by funding and physical HFC plant limitations, nearly 100 North American service providers have now selected the revolutionary SIPV solution.

Switched IP Video exploits the dynamic power of video switching technology to minimize the amount of bandwidth needed for delivering linear cable channels, freeing up massive amounts of bandwidth for DOCSIS. At the same time, SIPV makes it possible for operators to continually expand their channel lineups no matter how many HD and 4K UHD channels they might want to add over time without adding more video bandwidth. This is accomplished more quickly with SIPV at far lower costs and with better results than node splitting, RF capacity expansion, FTTH overbuilds or introducing new compression technology with new set-top boxes.

The white paper examines some of the key market indicators that are shaping network evolution strategies in an environment that has already driven broadband bandwidth consumption far beyond expectations. It also explains in detail how SIPV provides the optimal framework for addressing immediate and ongoing transport capacity requirements arising from these trends and demonstrates that despite the stage of network evolution an operator might be in, by adopting implementation of SIPV, they will be better positioned for any future bandwidth requirements.

The important core building blocks of SIPV are widely-deployed, proven and extremely reliable; in addition, SIPV works with legacy QAM set-tops and gateways. The overall customer experience through the platform is not only better and more reliable than broadcasting, but the super-efficient delivery mechanism enables an unlimited channel line-up offering and a low-cost, success-based introduction of 4K Ultra-HD.

The SIPV solution delivers video more efficiently by “switching” the programs into network service groups only when they are requested, rather than wasting valuable bandwidth by the typical practice of broadcasting all channels, to all set-top boxes, all the time. The benefit is that SIPV can free up to 80% or more of an operator’s video bandwidth in as little as 90 days so that it can be immediately used for DOCSIS 3.0, 3.1 or Full Duplex expansion to multi-Gigabit.

Access Communications Selects Adara’s SIPV Solution to Accelerate DOCSIS Expansion

Solution to Free Up Significant Bandwidth

TORONTO, ON – March 21, 2017 – Adara Technologies Inc., the provider of game-changing solutions for mid-sized cable service providers, today announced that Access Communications Co-operative Ltd., a Canadian triple-play cable operator based in Regina with over 125,000 homes passed in 230 communities throughout Saskatchewan, has selected to deploy Adara’s Switched IP Video (SIPV) solution to free up bandwidth and enable the expansion of its DOCSIS Internet services quickly and cost effectively.

“We currently operate both DAC and HITS-QT platforms with Motorola set-tops for video, and like most other operators, our RF spectrum is full, leaving limited room to expand our DOCSIS Internet services,” said Craig Van Ham, VP Technology at Access. “We’re looking forward to providing our customers with faster broadband speeds by taking advantage of the newly freed-up bandwidth.”

“The important core building blocks of SIPV are widely-deployed, proven and extremely reliable which also means that SIPV works with legacy QAM set-tops and gateways,” said Stan Koukarine, Adara’s CTO and Co-founder. “In fact, with switched, the overall customer experience is not only better and more reliable than broadcasting, but the super-efficient delivery mechanism enables an unlimited channel line-up offering and a low-cost, success-based introduction of Ultra-HD/4K, as well,” he continued.

SIPV’s video delivery efficiency not only frees up bandwidth in the HFC access network, but it also saves bandwidth in the IP core or leased IP lines that typically interconnect an operator’s distant communities. “Adara’s SIPV solution will allow us to connect many of our current HITS- QT+ communities directly to our DAC network and video sources in Regina, enabling us to deliver more state-of-the-art video services to these towns. This will allow us to eliminate dozens of headends,” said Mr. Van Ham.

Cass Cable Tv Launches Switched IP Video And Advanced UI With Adara Technologies Solution

Industry First: Operator to cap, not forklift, Motorola STB investment to grow subscribers with Cisco-based Adara Solution

TORONTO, ON – February 12, 2014 – Adara Technologies Inc., the provider of cloud-based, hosted and managed advanced video solutions that enable mid-to-small sized service providers to affordably implement advanced video services, today announced that Cass Cable TV has launched a Switched IP Video network upgrade using the Adara solution that has enabled the operator to cost-effectively deliver hundreds of incremental HD channels as part of an advanced User Experience.

Also, in a significant industry-first, the Adara solution allows Cass Cable TV, a Motorola-shop, to cap yet maintain its Motorola headend and digital set-top box investment, while growing its digital subscriber footprint using advanced Cisco set-tops that co-exist simultaneously. The Adara solution incorporates Cisco’s Switched IP Video technology to deliver incremental HD services, and combines Cisco’s advanced hybrid RF+IP set-top boxes with a next generation User Experience, delivering a platform for the continued addition of advanced UI features and interactive web applications traditionally associated with the latest Tier 1 IPTV implementations.

Adara’s solution also includes a broad suite of online utilities as well as diagnostic and reporting tools designed to increase an operator’s network visibility and control. “Our AdaraMAX utilities not only deliver operational savings for our customers,” explained Stan Koukarine, CTO for Adara Technologies, “but they also drive revenue growth through reduced subscriber churn since issues are identified and resolved more proactively, often before they impact subscribers.”

The Adara hosted and managed video solution is a unique breakthrough in that it is applicable to any service provider irrespective of whether the provider is currently invested in a legacy Motorola or Cisco/SA digital video headend, or what type set-top conditional access is being used. “It has been challenging to figure out how to deliver the experience our subscribers want without breaking the bank,” said Tom Allen, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cass Cable TV. “With Adara, we are using Cisco’s technology to deliver new features and fantastic pictures, while our Motorola set-tops continue to earn us revenue. Our future investments will be spaced out as we win new customers and upgrade our current ones to a vastly superior video experience.”

Cass Cable TV, a triple-play service provider with approximately 16,000 subscribers in Central Illinois, chose the Adara solution over an analog reclamation approach using Digital Terminal Adapters (DTA). For Cass Cable TV, both the CAPEX and the OPEX for the Switched IP Video upgrade solution was less than one-tenth the cost of a DTA approach.

“Adara’s solution delivers an order of magnitude more, at a fraction of the cost, compared to the other options we looked at,” said Gerald S. Gill, President of Cass Cable TV. “We were reluctant to invest millions of dollars on a DTA roll-out only to have to invest again a few years later on a real solution like Adara’s anyway. With this solution, we have set ourselves up nicely to begin winning back and retaining thousands more video customers in the coming months and years. We’re anticipating a real game-changer for our video business.”
